The PowerBoss 2, or PB2, is an EventSensor peripheral that extends the power distribution capability of a SiteBoss 571 by up to 12 additional switched DC power outputs. Each switched output can supply and powercycle a separate 500-watt load device.

PDU devices allow for the remote reboot of DC powered equipment, preventing a “truck roll” to reboot equipment. They might also be used as part of energy reduction programs at cell sites, in particular for extending battery life through load shedding in situations where it is known that you’ve lost primary AC power.
